These can include any genre and are copies which are released by record labels in advance of the official distribution of a new release. Promo copies are meant as a sampling mechanism, to primarily cause a stir among the DJ world. Promo copies are usually 'HOT', because they represent the absolute latest of the crop, sometimes 8 weeks in advance of the actual release. Their excitement factor is further boosted by their limited number, usually 200 to 500 worldwide.
