Downtempo is a primarily chilled style of dance music. Rather beat-less in structure and with little driving mechanism behind the compositions, chillout tracks tend to have a laid back mood, for a tripped out synth fantasy. Extend, slow playbacks of loops and soothing voices are at the center of this style. While not exactly an appropriate genre for a pulsating club environment, chillout is excellent for high class bar environments, where a professional air and sound must be maintained for mingling to occur.
